Max I think you are lovely and great! I first became interested in language as a topic when a roomate of mine had difficulty writing a letter, and asked for help, because he couldn't spell well. I thought ( well, can't you just 'sound it out'?) Then I reviewed some books sounding each word ,and found that tho I could spell well, the English language has a lot of inconsistencies...I even created my own ( efficient) spelling system. You teach very clearly and precisely. Very good, interesting, and appreciated. Langwij is impoertant!

Well it's definitely NOT the American way. There are no D's in WATER.

I told a waitress in northern New Jersey, USA "We need more time to look at the menu." My then g/f spoke up... "No. She asked if we wanted any water." I could swear she asked if we were ready to order. I'm not native to N.J. and their "wuhder".

The English: alu - min- ee - um Everyone else: aren't you supposed to know your own language? Do you say: Zedbra? No? Where did pronouncing Zee as "zed" come from then?

I can tell you that the silent “T” isn’t in the following words, button, kitten, mountain, captain and a host of other words with a “T” in the middle, but I guess it’s cool to follow the other sheep and leave those “t”s out.
